PAMF Medical Group Merger:
Impact on Patient Care

On January 1, 2008, the three medical groups affiliated with the Palo Alto Medical Foundation – Camino Medical Group (CMG), Palo Alto Medical Clinic (PAMC) and Santa Cruz Medical Clinic (SCMC) – merged into a single medical group. Eventually, the merger will allow patients to receive care at any PAMF facility in Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties. We will be working over the coming year to ensure the clinical, administrative and technical foundations are in place to allow patients to access care throughout the consolidated PAMF system.

Video Advice on YouTube
PAMF has produced a variety of mini videos on common health questions and topics and loaded them on YouTube, the popular Web site for posting your own videos. Go online to see our physicians and other medical experts talk about asthma (series of five), early pregnancy (series of 10), prostate cancer and nutrition (series of 11). Next up: a series of tips for new parents. Click here to watch the videos.

A Healthy Sleeping Environment

If you have chronic insomnia (sleeplessness), it may be caused by an underlying factor such as depression, anxiety or pain. Your insomnia will probably improve or disappear when the cause is treated successfully. Sometimes poor sleep becomes a problem of its own. Dwelling on it only makes it worse. Simply changing your beliefs about sleep and your everyday behaviors can improve your sleep dramatically. Learn how to set up a healthy sleeping environment.
