Sports Wellness Programs: Is 40 really the new 20?

We would all like to believe that 40 is the new 20, but as we age the natural wear and tear on our bodies can take a toll on our joints, flexibility and muscle strength. Aging healthy can sometimes feel like a full time job, but maintaining core body strength and remaining physically active make growing older less painful. Remaining physically active has a multitude of benefits. It can intensify blood flow to the brain, strengthen your heart, but it can also increase the chances of injury. Creating a Blueprint for the New St. Luke's

California Pacific Medical Center is in the midst of developing an overall plan to bring the next generation of health care services to the people of San Francisco. As we’ve previously reported, that plan calls for building a new acute care community hospital on the St. Luke’s Campus. Read full article.
 
Expanding Access to Health Care

Since 2003, California Pacific Medical Center has played an active role in a citywide effort by all San Francisco hospitals to improve the health of African Americans in the city. The African American Health Disparity Project (AAHDP) was created in response to a community needs assessment that showed African Americans are less likely than other groups to have access to health care. As a result, their death rates from health problems such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and various forms of cancer are significantly worse than other groups. To help turn the tide, California Pacific Medical Center has launched a variety of programs that expand access to health care for African Americans, including many who live in the St. Luke’s Campus service area.
