Pediatric Emergency Department Opens with Fanfare

After months of planning and construction, California Pacific Medical Center opened its Pediatric Emergency Department on November 4th to the delight of many San Francisco area families. This facility—located in San Francisco at 3700 California Street in our Women & Children’s Center—offers care for children ages birth to 18. Read full article.
 
Unique New Center Trains Medical Staff in the Latest Surgical Techniques

On Oct. 15 2008, the SimSurg Education Center (SSEC) opened its doors at 475 Brannan Street, coinciding with the American College of Surgeons 94th Annual Clinical Congress held at the Moscone Center. The SSEC is the only facility of its kind on the West Coast, providing a valuable resource for continuing surgical education. The simulation training center features a laboratory setting ideal for research and development in surgical skills innovation, anesthesia techniques and nursing education. Read full article.
 
California Pacific Medical Center Receives ACR Center of Excellence Designation

California Pacific Medical Center’s Breast Health Center on our California Campus has been designated an American College of Radiology (ACR) Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the first San Francisco facility to receive this designation. ARC requires facilities be fully accredited in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound in order to receive this recognition. What this designation means, is that we are dedicated to improving the women’s health going beyond medicine to provide our patients with the latest technology for diagnosing and treating breast cancers.
