Prostate
Cancer Screening
There has been a great deal of confusing information in the
press about the validity and necessity of prostate cancer screening. EHI recommends that all men follow the
screenings guidelines as outlined by the American Urological Association, see
below.
“The prostate-specific
antigen (PSA) test should be offered to well-informed men age 40 years or older
who have a life expectancy of at least 10 years.”
In early 2010, EHI’s Cancer Committee and other partners
will host a Town Hall meeting on prostate cancer screening; the exact date and
other details will be announced in February.
