- February is American Heart Month
Women's Heart Health from Sutter Health
According to a recent study conducted by Sutter Health, more than 80 percent of Northern California women age 40 to 70 are potentially at risk for a first heart attack. However, only 30 percent of these same women believed themselves to be at risk. With coronary risk factors like obesity, diabetes and hypertension on the rise, Sutter physicians and hospitals are working together to help women understand their significant risk, identify warning signs and live heart-healthy lives.

Linda Strain, M.D. , is a pediatrician at the Palo Alto Clinic. She received her M.D. degree from Emory University in Georgia in 1990. Dr. Strain completed a residency and internship at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. She is board certified in family medicine and speaks basic Spanish.
Ming-Hsien Wu, M.D. , is a family medicine physician at the Fremont Center. He received his M.D. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1994.
