Since my last newsletter,
we have been waiting for the release of the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for our project.
This report represents the next step in the process toward a decision about the proposed Palo Alto Medical
Foundation (PAMF) San Carlos Center. Before a decision is made by the City of San Carlos on our application
to build a medical center, the DEIR must be certified as complete and adequate in accordance with state law.
The long-anticipated report was released earlier this month and is now available for public review.
I want to explain what this document is and some of its findings.
We look forward to discussing
the DEIR in public hearings
before the City Council and Planning Commission on April 3 (and possibly April 4) at 7 p.m. at the Hiller Aviation Museum.
Written comments on
the DEIR can also be provided to the city until April 29.
To view a copy of the DEIR, you may visit
www.cityofsancarlos.org For more information
on the DEIR and its findings, please visit www.pamf.org/sancarlos or call our Public Affairs Department at (650) 853-2965. As always, we welcome your questions and feedback!
Record Turnout at San Carlos Parent
Education Workshops
PAMF, which is partnering with the San Carlos School District (SCSD)
and the San Carlos Educational Foundation (SCEF) to present free parent
education workshops in San Carlos, had a record turnout at its Feb. 8 workshop,
the fourth in a series of six. More than 180 parents turned out for "Parents,
Peers, Popularity, Power: Navigating Children's Friendships" to learn how to
help their children develop successful relationships, be good friends,
manage relationships at home and school, and to learn their roles
as parents in peer issues.
"Your direct connection to Personalized Health Care"
How You Can Help
Community support is key to making the PAMF San Carlos Center a reality.
You can help by letting your community leaders know you support this
project and the benefits it will bring: high-quality health care;
enhanced access to primary care and specialty physicians; a 24-hour,
seven-days-a-week emergency room; urgent care; more than 1,300 new jobs;
community health programs; and more. We hope you will call, e-mail or write
to your local City Council and Planning Commission and tell them why you believe
the PAMF San Carlos Center will be a great addition to the community.
