Since our last newsletter communication, a number of significant events have occurred as we come closer to making the Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) San Carlos Center a reality.
Environmental Impact Report (EIR) Approval
In late April, the San Carlos City Council unanimously approved a resolution certifying the adequacy and completeness of the EIR for our proposed medical center. The Council’s decision followed unanimous approvals from the Traffic and Circulation Commission and the Planning Commission. The project will now undergo a new round of hearings on the merits of the project before the Traffic and Circulation Commission, Planning Commission and City Council.
Community support is key to making the PAMF San Carlos Center a reality. We hope you will attend an upcoming public hearing or call, e-mail or write to your City Council and Planning Commission members and tell them why you believe the PAMF San Carlos Center will be a good project for San Carlos.
True to our original intentions, we will offer primary and specialty physician services, an urgent care center, laboratory, X-ray and other testing services, as well as a full-service acute care hospital with a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week emergency room, all in one location at the PAMF San Carlos Center. PAMF will also keep its Redwood Shores and Redwood City clinics open so that patients have a choice for where they receive their care.
