PAMF is Studying New Ways of Managing Diabetes
More than 20 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes, a condition in which an individual’s blood glucose level is too high. Late last year, PAMF and its Research Institute received a $1.2 million federal grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to conduct a clinical trial on the use of personal health records and remote patient monitoring in managing diabetes – one of the most costly and prevalent chronic health conditions. read more

    Parenting Strategies 101: Preventing Disordered Eating and Promoting Body Acceptance

    Parents face difficult challenges fostering healthy behaviors and attitudes toward food and body image in today's culture of fat phobia and nutrition alarmism. PAMF dietician Barbara Christie, M.S., R.D. , and Diana Elwyn, M.S., MFT, will share nutritional, psychological and environmental strategies to prevent disordered eating and promote body acceptance.

    Skin Care and Sleep Apnea - What's the Relationship?

    PAMF physicians Keven Gersten, M.D., Ph.D., and Tatiana Grezeszkiewicz, M.D., Ph.D., will discuss general facial care, as well as its importance and relationship to the use of a CPAP machine (a machine that helps a person who has obstructive sleep apnea breathe easier during sleep). This lecture will be beneficial to those with sleep apnea, as well as those without it. Dr. Gersten is a sleep specialist within PAMF's Department of Otolaryngology (Ear Nose and Throat). Dr. Grezeszkiewicz is a board certified dermatologist.
