Patient Safety: Reducing Risk of Medical Errors
In 2008, California passed a new law that makes it easier for the public to find out when health care providers make errors that harm patients. As a result, you may have recently read, listened to or watched news stories about medical mistakes, and may be concerned about how safe you are when receiving health care.
It is important to know that health care has not become less safe. If anything, patient safety has become even more important now that health care providers must report every serious error to the state. Read about PAMF's patient safety efforts and how you can protect yourself against medical errors.
