Children's Cuts, Scrapes and Bruises: When to See the Doctor
As much as we try to keep our children safe, injuries can’t always be avoided. Children fall down and have other accidents during their daily activities that result in cuts, scrapes and bruises. As parents, we cringe when it happens and we worry about whether or not we should take our children to an urgent care center or emergency room. Online Signup for Kids' Electronic Health Records

A Mother's Place: Support for New Moms
Come and join other new moms during the first three months after giving birth, or "fourth trimester," for support and advice. You can also meet with a midwife and lactation consultant to ensure your first weeks of motherhood are healthy and happy. This support group includes:
  • Newborn weight checks and hands-on breastfeeding help
  • Healing for new moms
  • Newborn issues, including umbilical cord care, breastfeeding and bottle feeding techniques, breast pumping, diaper changing, bathing and more
  • Emotional support and calming techniques for mom and baby
The group meets on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at PAMF's Fremont Center. For more information, contact Gail Fiock, R.N., at 510-498-2146.

Dr. Drew is a pediatrician at PAMF's Palo Alto Center. She received her M.D. degree from George Washington University in 1997. She completed her internship and residency at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford Medical Center. She is board certified in pediatrics.

Angela Wong, M.D.

Dr. Wong is a family medicine physician at PAMF's Fremont Center. She received her M.D. degree from the University of Michigan in 1998. She completed her internship and residency at Kaiser Permanente in Los Angeles, CA. She is board certified in family medicine and speaks basic Mandarin.
