Happy Holidays from Health-e Woman!
We know this can be one of the happiest times of the year and certainly one of the busiest. It can be easy to put aside thinking about your health when you are faced with a seemingly endless to-do list but now is exactly the right time for catching your breath and catching up on how to keep you and your loved ones healthy. We can give you good advice on which toys are Santa-approved, how to stay healthy and reduce seasonal stress and even a gentle reminder that women can get drunk more easily than men. So take a moment to catch up -- after all, good health for you and those you love is certainly a reason to celebrate this season!

Antibacterial Products: Can You Be Too Clean?
by Elissa Sonnenberg, MSEd

Can you keep your cool when everyone around you is stressing out? This is not so easy during the holidays, when celebration becomes more like one huge chore to get through rather than the season to be jolly. Does alcohol affect women differently than it does men?
by Jacquelyn Rudis

Should a girl try to keep up with the guys while drinking at a party? Though some people think otherwise, women and men do process alcohol differently. Women become more intoxicated and their blood alcohol concentration is higher after drinking the same amount of alcohol as men, even if they are the same weight. Learn about the fascinating differences in enzymes, body fat, water levels and hormonal changes that create the difference.

The year-around gift: Volunteering

These people know what it means to be generous with their time and attention: Volunteers at Banner Boswell and Banner Del E. Webb medical centers in November celebrated 40 years of service to Sun City, Sun City West and the surrounding communities. During those 40 years, they have provided more than 11 million service hours – the equivalent of more than 5,000 years – and raised almost $10 million dollars to support the delivery of award-winning health care in the Northwest Valley.
